what is Laser Core Alignment?
Laser core alignment is an advanced guiding system used in slitter rewinder machines to ensure precise positioning of paper cores directly under the slitting blades. It uses visible laser lines to indicate exact alignment points, reducing human error, speeding up setup time, and improving rewinding accuracy.
Precision Alignment
Laser lines mark the exact edge of each slit width, allowing the operator to align cores to within ±0.1mm accuracy—no manual measuring needed.
Faster Setup
Operators simply follow the laser projections to place slitting knives and rewind cores quickly and correctly, reducing downtime between jobs.
Better Roll Quality
By ensuring perfect core alignment with each slit edge, laser systems help eliminate roll offset, telescoping, and poor winding, especially critical for high-speed packaging or label applications.

2025 Upgraded
In 2025, we successfully applied our laser core alignment system to the production of reinforced gummed paper tape (also known as kraft paper tape). The alignment device is fully integrated with the machine’s PLC and HMI system. Operators can input slit specifications directly through the HMI, and the servo motor precisely drives the laser pointer along a ball screw guide rail. This ensures each paper core is positioned with high accuracy to match the slitting knives—greatly enhancing efficiency and roll quality for reinforced kraft tape production.
