GURUGRAM, INDIA — AUM Premium, a natural Himalayan spring water brand, has announced plans to introduce paper-based bottles by the end of 2026 as part of its strategy to reduce plastic use and expand sustainable packaging options.
The company said the new packaging is being developed using responsibly sourced paper combined with a food-grade barrier designed to minimize conventional plastic while maintaining product quality.
Paper Packaging Targets Lower Environmental Impact
According to AUM Premium, the paper-based bottle is intended to reduce the amount of plastic used in beverage packaging while improving transportation efficiency through a lightweight design.
The company expects the new packaging to help lower the environmental impact associated with packaging production and distribution.
Paper-based bottles are increasingly being explored by beverage manufacturers as part of broader efforts to reduce reliance on traditional plastic packaging while supporting circular economy initiatives.
Recycling Partnership Supports Circular Packaging
Alongside the planned bottle launch, AUM Premium has partnered with Scrapbuddy, a waste management and recycling company based in Delhi.
The collaboration will introduce a recycling program for used bottles aimed at encouraging responsible disposal and improving packaging recovery.
The initiative forms part of the company’s broader sustainability strategy, combining alternative packaging materials with end-of-life recycling solutions.

The announcement reflects increasing interest across the beverage industry in packaging formats that reduce plastic consumption while maintaining product protection and consumer convenience.
Manufacturers are evaluating a range of alternatives, including:
- Paper-based bottles
- Recycled plastic packaging

- Refillable packaging systems
Many companies are also combining new packaging materials with recycling programs to improve circularity throughout the packaging lifecycle.
Long-Term Sustainability Goals
