packaging workforce training

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia — The Foundation for Packaging Education has announced continued growth across its workforce development initiatives, reporting expanded training resources, scholarship programs and professional education designed to strengthen the future workforce of the paper-based packaging industry.

Supported by donor funding, the Foundation continues to invest in education programs serving employees across the corrugated, folding carton and rigid box sectors.

Packaging University Reaches Nearly 30,000 Course Completions

A major focus of the Foundation’s investment has been AICC’s Packaging University, where funding has helped develop more than 160 online courses covering technical, operational and business topics.

According to the Foundation, the platform has now recorded nearly 30,000 course completions, reflecting growing industry demand for accessible workforce training.

Funding has also supported Spanish-language course translations, Learning Management System (LMS) enhancements and ongoing content updates developed with industry subject matter experts.

Scholarships Support Industry Leadership Development

Scholarship programs remain another key priority for the Foundation.

Current initiatives include support for the Dick Troll Memorial Scholarship, Steve Narva Memorial Scholarship, and scholarships for participants enrolled in AICC’s Next Generation Leadership and Business Certification in Corrugated programs.

These programs aim to develop future leaders while strengthening technical and management capabilities across the packaging industry.

Industry Focuses on Workforce Development

As packaging manufacturers continue investing in automation, sustainability and advanced production technologies, workforce training is becoming an increasingly important industry priority.

The Foundation said continued donor support will help expand educational resources, certification opportunities and professional development programs for employees throughout the independent packaging sector.

The organization is encouraging tax-deductible contributions to help sustain future workforce education initiatives.

The Foundation for Packaging Education serves as the charitable education arm of AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, funding training, certification and learning resources for employees at AICC member companies.
