Koehler Paper has announced a 6% price increase for its recycled paper portfolio, with the adjustment taking effect for deliveries from 1 September 2026.
The company said the increase reflects continued inflationary pressure across key production inputs, including recovered fibre, energy and logistics, which have significantly increased manufacturing costs in recent months.
Rising Input Costs Drive Price Adjustment
According to Koehler Paper, the price adjustment is primarily attributed to ongoing increases in the cost of raw materials used in recycled paper production, together with higher energy expenses and rising global freight and logistics costs.
The company noted that these factors have placed additional pressure on production economics and supply chain stability across the paper industry.
Despite implementing internal efficiency improvements and process optimization initiatives, Koehler said a price adjustment has become necessary to maintain reliable supply and consistent product quality.
Paper Industry Continues to Face Cost Pressures
The announcement reflects broader market conditions affecting paper manufacturers globally.
In recent months, producers of recycled paper and specialty paper have continued to face volatile input costs, driven by fluctuations in recovered fibre markets, energy prices and international transportation expenses.
These cost pressures have prompted several paper manufacturers to review pricing strategies as they seek to balance operational sustainability with reliable customer supply.
Recycled Paper Remains a Strategic Product Segment
Demand for recycled paper continues to grow as brand owners and packaging converters increase the use of recycled fibre to support circular economy objectives and comply with evolving sustainability regulations.
At the same time, manufacturers are investing in production efficiency and supply chain resilience to meet customer expectations for both product quality and environmental performance.
Maintaining stable production while managing higher operating costs remains a key priority for recycled paper producers across Europe.
Koehler Expands Sustainable Paper Portfolio
Koehler Paper operates five paper mills in Germany and manufactures a broad range of specialty paper grades, including recycled paper, thermal paper, fine paper, decor paper, playing card board, carbonless paper, drink coaster board, wood pulp board and sublimation paper.
The company said its sales teams will communicate the revised pricing directly with customers ahead of the September implementation date.
The latest adjustment highlights the continued impact of raw material, energy and logistics costs on the European paper industry, as manufacturers work to secure long-term supply while supporting growing demand for sustainable paper products.
