Why need photocell?
In high-speed converting and slitting operations, precision and timing are everything. A photocell plays a vital role by detecting marks or edges in real time, enabling the machine to respond instantly. It’s a smart solution that minimizes errors, reduces waste, and ensures every cut or splice is made exactly where it should be.

How Does a Photocell Ensure High-Precision Cutting?
A photocell ensures high-precision cutting by accurately detecting printed registration marks or contrast points on the moving web.
When the sensor identifies the mark, it sends a real-time signal to the machine’s control system, triggering the cutting mechanism at the exact position.
This eliminates cutting errors caused by slippage or material drift, ensuring every cut is aligned with the intended design. In high-speed slitter rewinders, this is crucial for maintaining consistency, reducing waste, and delivering clean, accurate roll output.

What is the flexographic printing process?
Flexographic printing is a fast, roll-to-roll process that uses flexible relief plates to transfer ink onto materials like paper, film, or foil. Ink is metered by an anilox roll and doctor blade, then transferred to a plate cylinder with a raised image. The image is pressed onto the substrate using an impression cylinder. Each CMYK color prints in sequence, with registration marks ensuring accurate alignment. It’s ideal for high-speed label and packaging production.

What Is Color Registration?
Color registration is the accurate alignment of multiple color layers—typically CMYK—in the printing process to ensure sharp and consistent image reproduction.
