Engineering Converting Machinery Since 2008
JOTA Machinery develops and manufactures roll-to-roll and roll-to-sheet converting machinery for paper, film, foil, nonwoven materials, tapes, labels, and advanced composites.
Since JOTA began its converting machinery business in 2008, our capabilities have expanded from machinery supply to engineering, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and production support. We established our own manufacturing facility in 2011 and relocated manufacturing operations to Kunshan, Jiangsu, in 2015.
Today, our engineering work covers web handling, tension control, slitting, rewinding, cutting, printing, material processing, and production automation. For projects involving new materials or specific production requirements, customer materials can also be tested before the machine configuration is finalized.
Our focus is practical: understand the material, define the converting process, and build equipment around the customer’s production requirements.

The People Behind Jota Machinery
Arno Ren
Commissioning Engineer
Arno has more than a decade of experience installing and debugging Jota’s slitter rewinders worldwide. He adapts each machine to local conditions and trains operators, ensuring smooth, reliable production.

Paper Converting
Slitting, rewinding, cutting, perforating and printing systems for thermal paper, plotter paper, labels and other paper-based roll products.

Flexible Materials
Roll-to-roll slitting, rewinding and converting systems engineered for films, foils, nonwovens, water activated tape and other flexible web materials.

Advanced Composites
Production and precision converting systems for thermoset prepreg, thermoplastic UD tape and other continuous-fiber composite materials.

Production Automation
Integrated automation for rewinding, core handling, roll transfer, packaging, conveying and palletizing around the converting process.

From Material Testing to Machine Configuration
Every converting project starts with the material.
Paper, film, nonwoven, prepreg and thermoplastic UD tape behave differently during unwinding, tension control, slitting, rewinding and other converting processes.
Before confirming a machine configuration, our engineering team evaluates the material, web width, roll diameter, finished-product dimensions, production speed and downstream process requirements.
For applications that require further verification, customers can send material samples to JOTA for testing. The results help us determine the appropriate web path, tension control, slitting method, rewinding structure and other machine configurations.
How We Develop a Converting Solution
01
Material Review
We review the material type, thickness, width, roll diameter, surface characteristics and other properties that may affect web handling and converting performance.
02
Process Requirements
We define the required finished-roll or sheet dimensions, production speed, slit width, winding method and other converting processes needed for the application.
03
Material Testing
When required, customer materials are tested on suitable equipment to evaluate web handling, slitting, rewinding and other process conditions before the machine configuration is finalized.
04
Machine Engineering
Based on the material and process requirements, we define the web path, tension control, slitting method, rewinding system, drive configuration and required automation.
05
Manufacturing & Testing
The machine is manufactured, assembled and electrically integrated at JOTA, followed by functional testing and, where applicable, trial production with customer materials before shipment.
06
Installation & Production Support
After delivery, support can include installation, commissioning, operator training and production troubleshooting to help the machine transition from factory testing to customer production.
